Erie County Legislator Kevin Hardwick announces that a package approved at the May 27, 2017 session provides funding for the Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns and the Town of Tonawanda Youth, Parks and Recreation through Erie County’s Primetime Program to support summer activities.
“Everybody always talks about the importance of our youth. With this funding, we are putting our money where our mouth is,” said Legislator Hardwick.
The funding will be used for programming and to provide youths with supervised, recreational activities during the upcoming summer recess. The Town of Tonawanda Youth and Recreation Department received $7,500 and the Boys and Girls Club of the Northtowns received $7,500.
Primetime Funding also supports the Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts, YWCA of WNY, YMCA Buffalo-Niagara, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Erie County, Police Athletic League of Buffalo and others. Determination of Summer Primetime funding is coordinated through the Department of Social Services and the final proposal is requested by the County Executive’s Office.
