If you were out of NY State for less than 24 hours, you do not need to quarantine, but you must fill out the Traveler Health Form AND take a COVID-19 diagnostic test four days after your arrival.

If you were out of NY State for more than 24 hours, you must fill out the Traveler Health Form AND quarantine for 14 days. You may be permitted to exit quarantine early if you meet the following requirements:

  • Take a COVID-19 test within three days prior to your arrival to New York, AND quarantine for three days following your arrival, AND take another COVID-19 test on the fourth day following your arrival. If both tests are negative, you can end quarantine.
  • While quarantining, you must remain indoors and only go outside for critical needs like medical care, including getting tested for COVID-19.

Essential workers are not required to quarantine, but must seek COVID-19 diagnostic testing on the fourth day following their arrival in New York State.
