ERIE COUNTY, NY – From test results received by the Erie County Department of Health as of close of business on Tuesday, March 17, nine new cases were confirmed. That brings the total number of cases confirmed today to 13.
Those individuals include:
- female, 60s
- female, 20s
- male, 60s
- female, 30s
- female, 70s
- male, 50s
- female, 40s
- male, 60s
- female, late teens
These individuals reside in the following municipalities: two in the town of Hamburg, one of those is in the village of Blasdell; four in the town of Amherst, three of those in the village of Williamsville; Clarence; Aurora (Village of East Aurora); Holland.
As with other cases, ECDOH epidemiologists have notified these individuals and placed them in mandatory isolation. They are identifying close contacts of these individuals and placing those close contacts in mandatory quarantine to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.
If you develop symptoms, call your doctor for medical advice. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.
- Fever (100.4 degrees or higher)
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
ECDOH will release additional guidance as it affects the public as it becomes available through our investigation process. ECDOH is planning a press conference tomorrow at a time to be announced on Wednesday morning.
