ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH UPDATE, WEDNESDAY EVENING
ERIE COUNTY, NY – From test results received by the Erie County Department of Health as of close of business on Wednesday, March 18, six new cases were confirmed. That brings the total number of cases confirmed in Erie County to 27.
Those individuals include:
- a male in his 40s
- a female in her 30s
- a male in his 20s
- a male in his 20s
- a female in her 40s
- a female in her 40s
These individuals reside in the following municipalities: two in Buffalo, one in Lancaster, one in Cheektowaga, one in Williamsville in the town of Amherst, and one in Hamburg.
As with other cases, ECDOH epidemiologists have notified these individuals and placed them in mandatory isolation. They are identifying close contacts of these individuals and placing those close contacts in mandatory quarantine to monitor for COVID-19 symptoms.
If you develop symptoms, call your doctor for medical advice. The following symptoms may appear 2-14 days after exposure.
- Fever (100.4 degrees or higher)
- Cough
- Shortness of breath
ECDOH will release additional guidance as it affects the public as it becomes available through our investigation process.
