BOOSTERS AVAILABLE: ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH VACCINE CLINICS OFFER COVID-19 BOOSTER DOSES TO ALL ELIGIBLE

ERIE COUNTY, NY – Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) COVID-19 vaccine clinics are offering booster doses to anyone who is currently eligible.

ECDOH COVID-19 vaccine clinics follow CDC and New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidance for booster administration. Individuals who completed a Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine series at least five months ago are eligible for a booster dose. The previous interval was at least six months.

Children and people ages 5 years and older who are moderately to severely immunocompromised may receive an additional primary dose of Pfizer vaccine 28 days after their second Pfizer dose. Parents and guardians of children with immunocompromising conditions should consult their child’s physician. People ages 18 years or older who completed their Moderna COVID-19 vaccine primary series should plan to get an additional primary dose at least 28 days after their second dose.

Adolescents ages 12 to 17 should receive a Pfizer booster five months after completing their initial Pfizer vaccine series. Previously, a Pfizer booster was authorized for people ages 16 and older. Booster shots are available to everyone ages 12 years and older who is fully vaccinated. Today, NYSDOH announced a #VaxForKids campaign to increase vaccination rates among children age 5 and older.
