ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH COORDINATES COVID-19 VACCINE CLINICS FOR CHILDREN WITH LOCAL CULTURAL ORGANIZATIONS

ERIE COUNTY, NY – The Erie County Department of Health (ECDOH) is coordinating a series of COVID-19 vaccine clinics in January with five local cultural organizations, specifically for children and their families. These vaccine clinics will offer Pfizer COVID-19 doses for children under 18 years old, and vaccine including boosters for eligible family members. Parents or guardians must pre-register children under age 18 at www.erie.gov/vax or by calling (716) 858-2929.

Participating organizations include Explore & More-The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum, the Buffalo Zoo, Roycroft Campus, The Buffalo History Museum and the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.

"We are happy to provide a peaceful and beautiful place to host this event. Partnering with Erie County on projects like this is important to us and we hope our community will take advantage of this free clinic." said David Swarts, president/CEO of the Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens.

“Explore & More-The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum is pleased that we can play a role in keeping the community and our children healthy,” said Explore & More Chief Executive Officer Michelle Urbanczyk. “We provide resources throughout the year for families and this is yet another resource by providing a free vaccine to children who need one.”

"The collaboration to provide these clinics demonstrates how local cultural organizations can work together for the greater good of our community, and we are pleased to help support this very important project," said Melissa Brown, executive director of The Buffalo History Museum.

Roycroft Campus Executive Director Curt Maranto said, “Through the difficulties of the past two years, the people of Western New York have generously supported the historic Roycroft so that we could survive the challenges of the pandemic. We are proud to partner with Erie County to give back to our community, by offering this opportunity to get their families and children vaccinated right here on the Campus they stepped up to protect.”

“The Buffalo Zoo is proud to host this vaccine clinic in partnership with the Erie County Department of Health. We are grateful to Erie County for their tireless work during the pandemic and thankful to the families who participate for doing their part to keep our community, including the Buffalo Zoo, safe,” said Norah Fletchall, President and CEO, Buffalo Zoo.
