ERIE COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH COVID-19 UPDATE, Wednesday evening, March 18

ERIE COUNTY, NY – The Erie County Department of Health is releasing results of its disease investigations on the individuals who tested positive for COVID-19 in the tests run by the Erie County Public Health Lab on Tuesday, March 17. An additional run of tests is currently being processed and results will be announced tomorrow.

The positive tests also included one additional case, a male in his 30s with recent travel out of state.

This brings the total of positive COVID-19 cases from March 17 to 14 cases, and the total positive COVID-19 cases in Erie County to date are 21 cases.

  • 3/11, 3-7 p.m., Larkin Center Office Building at 701 Seneca Street in Buffalo
  • 3/11, midday, Robert H. Jackson United States Courthouse in Buffalo
  • 3/13, 1 p.m., Walmart on Niagara Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda
  • 3/14, 3-3:30 p.m., Wegmans in Blasdell
  • 3/14, 7:30 p.m., Bed Bath and Beyond on McKinley Pkwy. in Blasdell
  • 3/14, 8:15 p.m., Buy Buy Baby in Williamsville
  • 3/15, 11:30 a.m., Orange Theory Fitness on McKinley Pkwy.
  • 3/15, 1 p.m., Walmart on Niagara Falls Blvd. in North Tonawanda
  • 3/15, midday, CVS on Main Street in East Aurora
  • 3/16, 3 p.m., Target on Niagara Falls Blvd. in Amherst

These individuals reside in the following municipalities: two in the town of Hamburg, one of those is in the village of Blasdell; four in the town of Amherst, three of those in the village of Williamsville; Clarence; Aurora (Village of East Aurora); Holland. The additional case from March 17 resides in North Collins.

ECDOH will release additional guidance as it affects the public as it becomes available through our investigation process.

Testing

Until further supplies for testing and sample collection are received by Erie County, ECDOH will not be scheduling sample collection or accepting samples for testing at its Public Health Lab. When we are able to resume testing at our Public Health Lab, we will make that announcement.

If you are already scheduled for sample collection by ECDOH, you will still have your sample collected and tested. Report to the location at the time scheduled by ECDOH.

Private labs are still performing COVID-19 tests with a physician’s authorization.
