10:00 AM – 5:00 PM. This collaborative event seeks to adopt out a substantial number of animals in one day and will build off of the success of the first event held in February 2016. As September is “National Preparedness Month”, the event will also feature pet-themed emergency preparedness information.
The Adopt-a-Thon, held on the opening day of the Great Pumpkin Farm (11199 Main St., Clarence, 14031), brings diverse and numerous pet lovers and organizations collaboratively under one roof to spotlight animals up for adoption. This free admission event offers a one-stop shopping experience for potential adopters looking to Fall in love with a new furry member of the family. Every pet adopted on Saturday will receive a free microchip and registration, courtesy of the Erie County Department of Health, and a “goodie bag” from TLC Pet Food. With your help, this event will bring awareness to the plight of homeless pets and help save lives, one paw at a time.
“This event is a wonderful opportunity for potential adopters to find a new friend. We are making it easy to meet that special pet at this unique rescue event,” said Erie County Health Commissioner Dr. Gale Burstein. “This year, millions of pets will be placed in shelters across North America. Many of them will be euthanized due to overpopulation. With the Adopt-a-Thon we are helping to break that cycle, save lives and provide loving “furever” homes for these animals.”
The WNY Furtastic Pet Adopt-A-Thon is sponsored by the Erie County Department of Health, TLC Pet Food, Fetch n' Catch and Goldenpup’s Bark and Ride Pet Taxi.
