Bills Stadium Lease Special Counsel RFP

On January 3, 2012, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz signed several Executive Orders as his first order of business.  Executive Order #001—Procurement of Legal Services to Support Buffalo Bills Lease Negotiations, required the County Attorney to immediately commence a process to procure the services of special counsel to support the upcoming lease negotiations with the Buffalo Bills through the issuance of a Request for Proposals (“RFP”) from qualified law firms.

On January 23, 2012, the Erie County Department of Law issued RFP#1202VF “To Provide Legal Services in Connection with the Lease of the County’s Professional Football Stadium,” with responses due by 3:00pm on February 10, 2012.

Responses were received from 13 law firms across the country and region and after a thorough analysis the firm of Nixon Peabody LLP (Buffalo, NY) was selected.
