Erie County Legislator John Mills recently honored Bill Skura and presented him with a proclamation for being named Springville Area Chamber of Commerce 2021 Citizen of the Year.

Mr. Skura grew up in Colden and moved to Springville in 1984 where he bought Springville Hardware. The business has been a source of home supplies for nearly 45 years. Along with providing hardware, plumbing, paint tools and household supplies, Mr. Skura provides personal, in-home repair services.

Aside from his business, Mr. Skura is involved and invested in his Springville community. He joins in on scouting with his son as well as his grandchildren’s scouting experience, he is in his 25th year as a trustee at the Springville First United Methodist Church, has helped to oversee several new construction projects and is the current Chairman of Springville’s Historic Preservation Commission.

Legislator Mills said, “Congratulations to Bill Skura for being named Springville Area Chamber of Commerce 2021 Citizen of the Year. Bill has dedicated a good portion of his life to serving the residents of Springville and preserving the village’s historic character. Thank you, Bill, for everything you do—we appreciate it beyond measure.”
