Library staff is happy to assist you navigate the various on line sites to check for Covid 19 Vaccine availability. Public computers are available for use with a library card or we can provide a guest pass. Remember printing from the computers is always available.
New Library by Mail Program!
Library by Mail is a new FREE service form the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library System that brings library materials to the homebound through the mail! It is available to any Erie County resident who is either temporarily or permanently unable to go to a physical library. There is a limit of three items to borrow and materials are checked pout for 6 weeks and are renewable for another 6 weeks. We are happy to continue to offer curbside pickup as an option to get your library materials. Simply call the library at 542-2327 to place your order or email it to email@example.com
To keep our social distance within the library, 7 computers are available for public use. Please do remember to wear your mask, ages 2 and up! All returned library materials are quarantined for 96 hours. Returns will be backdated to day returned.
The library offers free WiFi. This can be very useful to assist patrons with school and work needs!

Hand-Made Afghan Raffle!
Two beautiful afghans will be raffled off on April 16. The squares were all crocheted locally and assembled by library staff, Stacy. Tickets can be purchased at the library for $1

LEGO builders ages 7 and up, come build at the library! Four builders can be accommodated at each half hour session. Due to meeting room space and safety considerations, parents and non- building siblings are asked to enjoy the library during this time.

Kidding Around Yoga – Socially Distanced

T’ai Chi Chih – With Denise Miller
T’ai Chi Chih movements are practiced softly with no impact. No particular level of physical fitness or equipment required. Denise Miller is an accredited T’ai Chi Chih teacher who has been sharing this wonderful practice with students for 6 years. Masks are required during exercise and student will be spaced 6 feet apart. To register you must call the library at 542-2327 on the Monday before Tuesday’s class.

Checkers Library TV – Every Saturday at 10 am a new show is released on Facebook (Newstead Public Library)
The first Saturday of the month is the monthly 30 minute feature and all other Saturdays are shorter segments. Enjoy educational family entertainment featuring Checkers the Inventor and his sidekick robot Snoozer.
Read Down Your Fines!! Children ages 16 and under can read away their fines. Stop by the library for a Log or download form at: https://www.buffalolib.org/services/books-reading. Include all minutes read and for every 15 minutes of reading, $1 in fines is erased from child’s account. This program opportunity now runs year round.
Dolly Parton Imagination Library
Share the love of reading with your child! If you live in the Akron School District and have a child under 5 years old, please sign your child up for this great, FREE program. Each month your child will receive a book in the mail until their 5th birthday.
