History

Wendt Park is a 164-acre lakefront estate and was used as the Henry W. Wendt, Jr. family's summer residence, which they later renamed the "The Ridgewood."

The grounds present a panorama of cropped lawns, picnic tables, and a playground. This passive park is a great picnic location, but rocky/shale beach conditions and a non-lifeguarded beach make swimming prohibited.

Swimming does not open at Bennett Beach until 6/16 (weather permitting). There is no swimming at Wendt Beach.
