Most seriously Injuerd Transported by Mercy Flight

 

Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that the Crash Investigation Unit is investigating a serious injury crash that sent 5 people to area hospitals last night. 

On April 30th, 2017 at approximately 7:20 PM, reports were received that crash had occurred at the intersection of Milestrip and Willardshire Rd.s in the Town of Elma. 

Upon arrival, Deputies determined that a car driven by a 17 year old male was travelling east on Milestrip Road when it collided with another car being driven by a 58 year old female that was travelling North on Willardshire Rd.  Early indications are that one of the vehicles failed to stop for a stop sign. 

Joan Matter (58) of Elma was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC as a result of injuries sustained in the collision. 

The driver of the other vehicle was transported to South Buffalo Mercy for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.  3 additional passengers, a 14 year old male and a 13 year old femaile were transported to ECMC for treatment of their injuries.  A 14 year old female was taken to Childrens for injuries as a result of the crash.  All the Teens were from the Orchard Park area. 

The Crash Investigation Unit is continuing their investigation and will provide additional details as they become available.
