Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports that Deputies Okal and Lundberg arrested a Buffalo News delivery person on November 26 on drug-related charges.

On Saturday morning at around 6:00 am, Deputy Okal observed a vehicle violate the New York vehicle and traffic law on Olean Road in the Town of Holland  and initiated a traffic stop.  The Deputy discovered the driver, Douglas Lukehart – 58 of Sardinia, was the person of interest in the anonymous drug complaints.

Deputy Lundberg and K9 Haso searched the vehicle and Haso made positive alerts on a stack of newspapers.  Deputy Lundberg searched the stack and discovered a bag of marijuana.

Lukehart was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana, and several vehicle and traffic violations.  The defendant was later released on appearance tickets for Holland Town Court.
