Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reported his office arrested a driver after the operator rear-ended an Erie County Highway plow truck along Cole Road in the Town of Boston.

At approximately 5:05 A.M. on Saturday, March 8, Dispatchers received a call from a county highway superintendent regarding a crash involving a county plow.  Deputy Francis was the first to arrive and began investigating the incident.

While speaking with the operator of the vehicle that struck the plow truck, the Deputy observed signs of intoxication and the odor of alcohol.  The operator of the vehicle, Kevin Steinmetz, 36, of Colden, failed multiple standard field sobriety tests as well as registering an initial BAC level above the legal limit.
