A Bystander Wrestled Gun Away from the Subject before He Reentered the Building

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports 34-year-old Michael Graf of Clarence was arrested February 1 and charged with menacing with a weapon, a class-A misdemeanor.

Deputies responded to an establishment at 7675 Goodrich Road in Clarence around 1:25 A.M. following reports of fights and an individual with a gun.  When the Deputies arrived, the subject who possessed the gun left the scene.

The investigation discovered that two separate fights occurred inside the establishment involving Graf followed by him exiting the building and retrieving a shotgun from his vehicle.  Graf was observed carrying the gun and attempting to re-enter the building when a bystander stopped Graf outside and wrestled the gun away.  The bystander unloaded the gun, and Graf left the scene.

A short time later, Deputies located and arrested Graf.  The defendant was released with appearance tickets for Clarence Town Court so he may seek medical treatment for injuries received during the earlier altercations.

Deputies took custody of four long guns, which were surrendered by Graf.
