Subject smuggled Cocaine into Holding Center

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports Deputies arrested 18-year-old Kyle Keppler of Colden on drug-related charges following a traffic stop on South Buffalo Road in the Village of Springville on February 27.

 

At approximately 4 P.M., Deputies initiated a traffic stop.  During the investigation, Deputies discover Keppler was in possession of a quantity of marijuana and Xanax pills. Keppler was charged with criminal possession of marijuana - more than 25 grams, and criminal possession of a controlled substance.  The defendant was transported to the Erie County Holding Center pending his arraignment.

 

At the holding center, the transporting Deputy discovered Keppler had emptied an amount of cocaine onto the rear seat of the patrol vehicle, and during the intake process, additional cocaine was discovered secreted in Keppler’s underwear and hat.

 

Keppler was subsequently charged with felony counts of introducing dangerous contraband into a prison and concealing physical evidence as well as a misdemeanor count of criminal possession of a controlled substance.
