Sheriff Offering Free Child Safety Programs, K9 Demos at the Erie County Fair

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard announced the schedule of special unit demonstrations and child safety information at the Sheriff’s Building. 

As in past years, the Sheriff’s Office is offering free Child IDs, instruction for car seat installation, giving away free gun locks, and providing K-9 demonstrations. 

SCHEDULE

  • Car Seat Technicians:
    • August 7, 9, 12 – 16 4 p.m. – 8p.m.

    • August 10, 11, 17, 18 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

  •  Child ID – everyday 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. 
  • K9 Demos at the Top’s Avenue of Flags Stage

    • Wednesday, August 14 at 11:30 a.m.

    • Thursday, August 15 at 11:30 a.m. 

The Sheriff’s Building, located near the western end of the Midway and across from Gate 4, will be open until 10 p.m. daily.  Visitors can get free information about the Yellow Dot Program, free gun locks, ask Deputies about child car seats, and have a free child ID made.  Guests will also be able to view some of the specialized equipment used by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office and get information about the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
