Stolen Property, Drugs, Warrants All Part of 1 Traffic Stop

Driver & Passenger had Crack, Stolen Merchandise and Passenger had Warrants

 

Buffalo, NY – Erie County Sheriff Timothy B. Howard reports James Caffey and Henry McGriff were arrested following a traffic stop on Transit Road in Clarence Friday morning at around 3:20 am.

 

Deputy Mulhern observed a vehicle operated by Caffey, 57, of Niagara Falls without a front license plate and proper lighting.  Following the traffic stop, Deputy Mulhern discovered Caffey’s license is suspended and the passenger, McGriff, 32, of Niagara Falls did not possess a valid license or identification; however it was determined that McGriff had two outstanding warrants from Niagara Falls.

 

Deputy Klemp arrived to assist and during the subsequent search of the vehicle they discovered crack pipes and a quantity of crack cocaine.  They also discovered four GoPro cameras, an electronic baby monitor, electronic gaming accessories, and clothing in a duffle bag.  The investigation revealed that the items were stolen from the Wal-Mart in Lockport so the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office was contacted for an additional investigation. 

 

Caffey is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operation and various vehicle and traffic law violations.

 

McGriff is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. 

 

Both subjects were turned over to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
