Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro celebrated National Chicken Wing Day on Thursday, July 29 and presented proclamations to Duff’s Famous Wings located at 550 Dick Road in Depew and Joey’s Pizza Depew located at 2640 George Urban Boulevard. For decades, Duff’s and Joey’s Pizza Depew have been valued restaurants in Western New York—serving the famous and delicious Buffalo-born food.

Duff’s served its first batch of chicken wings in 1969—selling 20 pounds of wings per week and creating a name for itself and a reputation for having the best wings in Buffalo. For over 50 years, Joey’s Pizza and Subs has served the Depew community. As of June 1st, the business took on a new name as well as new ownership, but still offers the same signature recipes and menu items.

Legislator Todaro said, “No better way to celebrate National Chicken Wing Day than by honoring some of the many places in Western New York to grab a hot plate of wings! It was a pleasure getting to meet some of the individuals at Duff’s who go above and beyond in making sure every customer leaves satisfied each and every visit. I was also honored to meet AJ Luksch, the new owner of Joey’s Pizza Depew, to thank him for all the hard work he has already done and wish him nothing but years of success to come.”
