Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro recently honored local business Gernatt Asphalt Products for being the largest sand and gravel producer in New York State and for its continued dedication to the community. The company was established in 1946 by Dan Gernatt, Sr.

Legislator Todaro presented a proclamation to the owner of Gernatt Asphalt Products, Dan Gernatt, Sr. to thank him for his dedication to the Western New York Community and for his generous donation of $5,000 to the Depew Community Action Team to help fund the building of their new community center.

Gernatt Asphalt Products produces sand and gravel products in its Chaffee, Freedom, Gowanda, Great Valley, Hanover, South Dayton and Springville plants. The company produces and supplies asphalt in from their plants in Collins, Springville, Delevan, West Seneca and Westfield.

Gernatt Asphalt Products offers all types of gravel, stone, sand, asphalt, building materials and top soil. The business also provides essential materials for many major projects like the New York State Thruway, KeyBank Center, Sahlen’s Field and more.

As good of a businessman as Mr. Gernatt is, he is an even better person and philanthropist. Thank you for your thoughtful donation to the Depew Community Action Team.
