Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro recently presented a proclamation to Joe Khoury, Co-founder & President, and Brendan Guzda, Director of Operations, for opening their 11th Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill location on Transit Road in the Lancaster/Depew/Cheektowaga area. To date, this is the largest Rachel’s location at 4,000 square feet.

Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill is a fast order restaurant that serves traditional and creative Mediterranean dishes including build your own rice bowls, open souvlaki bowls, pita wraps and fresh crepes. When permitted, they will offer cooking classes for the general public.

Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill is also active in the Western New York community. They are a sponsor of the Buffalo Bills, Sabres, Bisons and Rochester Americans. Back in September, Rachel’s partnered with Oishei Children’s Hospital for the ‘Round Up at Rachel’s’ campaign which encouraged customers to round up their check. 100 percent of the proceeds were donated to help local kids, babies and mothers in the hospital. Through the campaign and other partnerships, Rachel’s was able to raise $12,576.52 for Oishei Children’s Hospital.

Rachel’s Mediterranean Grill puts an emphasis on the importance of keeping it local. 90 percent of employees at the Transit Road location are from the Lancaster/Depew/Cheektowaga area.

Legislator Todaro said, “Rachel’s isn’t just another fast food chain. They take both pride and action in the community. I’d like to send a huge thank you to Joe Khoury and Brendan Guzda for bringing such a well esteemed establishment to the Lancaster/Depew/Cheektowaga area. We are proud to have you close by!”
