Erie County Legislator Frank Todaro recently honored Ryan Lee for increasing community access to literature in Alden. Lee created Little Free Library, a nonprofit that expands book access for children and adults through a volunteer-led book exchange.

Over the summer, Ryan Lee hand-built the Little Free Library and worked with local officials to get it installed at Lyon’s Loop in front of Alden Intermediate School.

Legislator Todaro said, “Thank you to Ryan Lee, a graduate of Alden Senior High School, for working so hard to make this dream become a reality and helping to increase community literary by getting books into the hands of those young and old. There is nothing more important than sharing the gift of literacy with our neighbors and fellow community members. I look forward to seeing this great project expand even further in the future.”
