Frequently Asked Questions

What platform will you be running the live streaming classes on?

We will be using Cisco Webex to run the classes.

Do I need a Cisco Webex account or have to download anything to take part in the live streaming class?

You do not need a Cisco Webex account to register and join these classes. You can download the free Cisco Webex app if you want, but do not have to. Please note that using the app is the recommended way of running Cisco Webex.

Click here if you want to access the central location for downloads for all platforms/devices and other Webex information.

What types of devices am I able to view the live streaming classes on?

You may access the live streaming classes from your smart phone, tablet, or computer.

I do not have the proper technology and/or internet access at home. Can I still participate?

You may call in if you would just like to listen to the presentation, provided the class does not require video and audio capabilities. Standard phone charges may apply.

After registering online, the phone number and event ID/access code will be in the confirmation email.  You may also call our office for a list of phone numbers and access codes if you are unable to register online. Please note that you will not be able to participate in the Q&A section or see the presentation if only calling in.

Will others be able to see my video during the live streaming class?

The majority of our classes have settings that only allow attendees to join muted and without their videos displayed.

How will I be able to participate during the live streaming class?

You will be able to enter your questions in to the Q&A section of the event window. The host and instructor will try to answer as many appropriate questions as possible during the allotted time.

The host and instructor may also take polls during the class that attendees can participate in. These features will not be accessible if you are only calling in.

Will the live streaming classes be recorded so I can watch them later?

Some of the classes will be recorded and posted on our website at a later date. Attendees will be told in the beginning of the presentation that the session is being recorded.

Where can I go or who can I contact if I need more detailed instructions for how to register for and join a live streaming class?

You can click here to be taken to the Cisco Webex website for more information.

You can also email Katie Earl at katherine.earl@erie.gov for more information. Please note that the instructions will not be comprehensive.
