The County Clerk's Office maintains all Real Property Records, Deeds, Mortgages, Judgments, Tax Liens, Powers of Attorney, Leases and various other filings affecting the title to real property located in Erie County.
The public can view Land and other Public Records if you have an On-line Access Account with this office or by using one of our free public viewing terminals in the Clerk's Office. However, you may also obtain a summary of the document you are in search by simply highlighting that record and clicking on "F2".

RE: Cover Page Requirements

As you are aware, we we recently tested a customer prepared Cover Page for use when recording documents in the Erie County Clerk's Office.
We have reviewed the comments and queries from all of the stakeholders, including attroneys, paralegals, private persons and Clerk's Office personnel. Upon consideration of the anticipated benefits measured against the concerns expressed; and after discussions with our software provider in preparation of electronic recording, this Office has determined not to implement usage of the proposed Cove Page.
Effective immediately Cover Pages for deeds, mortgages and affidavits will be prepared by this office and generated by the cashier at the time of recording.
We appreciate your efforts in submitting the new Cover Page durting the test phase and are grateful for your cooperation and feedback.
