REPORT: ERIE COUNTY SHARES $184 MILLION IN SALES TAX REVENUE WITH CITIES, TOWNS & VILLAGES

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw issued a report on the breakdown of the approximately $183,687,315 in sales tax revenue Erie County shared in 2017 with three cities, 25 towns and 16 villages across the region.  Based on a 1977 agreement between the County of Erie and the Cities of Buffalo, Lackawanna and Tonawanda, those three cities agreed not to collect their own sales tax. 

BOSTON TAXPAYERS AND LOCAL LEADERS CALL FOR ACTION ON CRUMBLING COUNTY ROADS

Town of Boston officials and taxpayers, along with Erie County Legislator John Mills and Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw Jr., took action to bring attention to the deteriorating roads in that town. School buses transport young students on these roads, littered with potholes and crumbling shoulders, to Boston Valley Elementary School.  Bright road signs that read, “POLONCARZ FIX THIS ROAD NOW,” are now being placed along Zimmerman Road and Back Creek Road. 

Clarence H.S. hosts Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw to discuss county government and student finance program

Erie County Comptroller Stefan I. Mychajliw joined Clarence Academy of Business and Finance’s student leaders and business advisors for a roundtable discussion recently at Clarence High School. Following the meeting, Comptroller Mychajliw remarked on Clarence National Academy Foundation’s (NAF) impressive education model to introduce students to the business world.

Erie County Comptroller Stefan Iwan Mychajliw is the son of Polish and Ukrainian immigrants, the youngest of seven children, who grew up in blue-collar beginnings near the corner of William and Fillmore on the East Side of Buffalo.

The people of Erie County first elected Mychajliw Erie County Comptroller on November 6th, 2012. Husband to Ashley, a social worker, and proud father of Mia Theresa Mychajliw, a student at Cleve Hill.
