E.V.O.C. Instructor School

Classes will be held Monday thru Friday

The Erie County Law Enforcement Training Academy, under the auspices of the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, will be conducting the E.V.O.C. Instructor School at the Training Academy located on the Erie Community College North Campus, 6205 Main Street, Williamsville, NY. This course is designed to train agency training instructors to become E.V.O.C. Instructors for in-service and basic academy classes.

Target Audience:

Police Officers, Peace Officers or Campus Public Safety Officers

Prerequisites:

Basic Course for Police Officers or Peace Officers or Campus Public Safety Officer Course; and a valid General Topics Instructor Certificate

Topics Include:

• V & T and case law related to emergency vehicle operations
• Vehicle Dynamics
• Defensive Driving
• Hands-on coaching on the E.V.O. track

Please Note:

• You must recieve telephone or email confirmation on attendance for this course
• Course enrollment will be strictly limited to twenty (20) students, No exceptions 
• First preference will be afforded to Erie County Agencies, there will be a limited number of out-of-county spots and out-of-county officers must provide a certificate of residency form
• Agencies may be limited in enrollment to allow equal opportunity to this course
• There is no cost for Erie County Police Agencies.  Out-of-county agencies should call to see if a fee applies and how much
• Students MUST provide their own pursuit rated patrol vehicle, preferably the type currently in use by the department - vehicles will NOT be provided by the Training Academy
• Those officers completing this course will be expected to assist the academy with instruction during the Basic Course for Police Officers

Please Observe the Academy Dress Code:

Classroom: Business casual, NO jeans, sneakers or collarless shirts

E.V.O. track: Casual to include DBU pants, jeans, sneakers, boots; rain gear is recommended in the event of inclement weather
