Video Camcorder Surveillance Techniques Training

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services, Office of Public Safety is please to announce an additional session of the popular three day "Video Camcorder Surveillance Techniques Training". This training will be held February 28 - March 2, 2017 in Erie County.

This 3-day class is based on the presumption that participants have had no previous training in how to shoot evidence-grade surveillance video.  The class is centered on camcorders because they are inexpensive and, with the proper training, easy to use.  Hand-on exercises, beginning the first class day and continuing throughout the course, will give participants experience shooting surveillance video.  The course also covers the use of long-range lenses in conjuction with camcorders, the use of night scopes and some body-worn covert video surveillance systems.  Training on the second day will take place into the evening so students can practice techniques in the dark.

The training will be presented by Wadi Sawabini.  Since 1991, Mr. Sawabini has taught thousands of law enforcement professionals how to shoot evidence-grade video.  Participants in previous classes have included members of the ATF, Border Patrol, DEA, FBI, Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Korean National Police and thousands of local and state law enforcement agencies.  Mr. Sawabini is the leading national authority on video camcorder surveillance techniques for law enforcement, a highly-qualified instructor and an expert in the field of video surveillance.
