Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 26 year old Jennifer Furan of 139 Francis Avenue, Sloan, pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree, as charged, before County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka. This is the highest charge for which defendant could have been convicted had she been indicted and gone to trial.

Furan admitted that during the period between February 1, 2012 and June 30, 2012, she stole over $44,125 from her elderly grandfather’s bank account by forging checks to herself.

Sentencing is scheduled for January 23, 2013 at 9:30 p.m. before the Hon. Michael Pietruszka when Furan faces a maximum mandatory prison sentence as a second felony offender of 3-1/2 to 7 years.  The case was successfully prosecuted by ADA Gary Ertel.
