Man Takes Plea in Juvenile Rape and Sodomy Case

02/11/2013

Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 50 year old Craig Walek pleaded, as charged, to two counts of Use of a Child in a Sexual Performance, two counts of Rape in the Second Degree and one count of Criminal Sexual Act in the Second Degree before Supreme Court Justice Penny M. Wolfgang.  These are the highest charges for which Walek could have been convicted had he gone to trial.

Walek admitted to raping and sodomizing a juvenile between August 2006 and October 2007 and videotaping the acts for his own direct sexual gratification.

Walek faces a maximum prison sentence of 23 years when he is sentenced on April 29, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. before the Hon. Penny M. Wolfgang.  He is remanded pending sentence.
