Erie County District Attorney Frank A. Sedita, III announced that 87 year old Chester A. Rusek will be arraigned this morning before Supreme Court Justice Christopher Burns on an indictment charging him with Manslaughter in the First Degree.

It is alleged that on November 26, 2012, Rusek severely beat his roommate, 86 year old Salvatore Trusello, at the Kenwall DePaul Assisted Living Center, 3456 Delaware Avenue in the Town of Tonawanda by striking him repeatedly with a heavy magnet.  Trusello spent the next month in the Intensive Care Unit at ECMC, where he finally succumbed to his injuries on December 27, 2012.

If convicted of this crime Rusek faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years.
