Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 19-year-old Anthony Moore of Buffalo has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to a determinate sentence of 10 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. The defendant was sentenced on October 23, 2019.

On September 28, 2018, at approximately 12:20 a.m., 20-year-old Brandon Williams was fatally shot by 18-year-old Damoni Alexander on Lisbon Avenue in the City of Buffalo. While Alexander admitted to pulling the trigger, Moore provided Alexander with the illegal gun and encouraged Alexander to shoot the victim during a verbal altercation.

Earlier this month, Alexander was sentenced to 25 years in prison followed by 5 years of post-release supervision. He pleaded guilty to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree on March 27, 2019.

Moore also pleaded guilty to the same charge, one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” violent felony, on Friday, August 23, 2019.

 The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Rachel L. Newton of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
