Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 59-year-old Michael T. Davis of Buffalo was arraigned this morning before Buffalo City Court Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee on three counts of Robbery in the First Degree (Class “B” violent felonies) and two counts of Robbery in the Third Degree (Class “D” felonies).
The defendant is accused of committing a series of robberies at various bank locations in the City of Buffalo over the course of the past two months.
It is alleged that on Friday, September 3, 2021, at 4:41 p.m., the defendant forcibly stole approximately $300 in cash after handing a note to a bank teller at a location on Elmwood Avenue.
It is alleged that on Thursday, September 16, 2021, at 1:30 p.m., the defendant forcibly stole approximately $1,000 in cash after handing a note to a bank teller that indicated he was in possession of a gun. The alleged crime occurred at a bank on West Ferry Street.
It is alleged that on Friday, September 24, 2021, at 3:45 p.m., the defendant forcibly stole approximately $800 in cash after handing a note to a bank teller that indicated that he was in possession of a weapon. The alleged crime occurred at a bank on Grant Street.
It is alleged that on Friday, October 1, 2021, at 11:46 a.m., the defendant forcibly stole approximately $560 in cash after handing a note to a bank teller that indicated that he was in possession of a gun. The alleged crime occurred at another bank location on Elmwood Avenue.
It is alleged that on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., the defendant forcibly stole an unknown amount of cash after handing a note to a teller at a bank on Grant Street. The defendant is accused of committing the crime at the same bank location on Grant Street.
Davis is scheduled to return on Friday, October 22, 2021 at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing. The defendant was held on $150,000 cash/bond or $300,000 property.
If convicted of all charges, Davis faces a maximum of 89 years in prison.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
