Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Manuel Blanco Ortiz of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Paul B. Wojtaszek to Attempted Sexual Abuse in the First Degree.

Between January 1, 2017 and April 30, 2017, the defendant attempted to subject a juvenile female to sexual contact.

Blanco Ortiz faces a maximum of 4 years in prison when he is sentenced on Friday, October 12 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Mark Costantino of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Katharine S. Lavin of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau.
