Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 23-year-old Bashar Hall of Buffalo has been arraigned before Buffalo City Court Judge Barbara Johnson-Lee on one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree.

It is alleged that on July 17, 2018, the defendant injured his girlfriend’s 2 ½-year-old son at their home on Weaver Street in the City of Buffalo. The child later died from his injuries at John R. Oishei Children’s Hospital.

The defendant was remanded on $500,000 cash, bond or property.

Hall is scheduled to return on Monday, July 23, at 9:30 a.m. for a felony hearing.

If convicted on the charge, Hall faces up to 25 years in prison.

Colleen Curtin Gable, Chief of the DA’s Homicide Bureau, is prosecuting the case.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
