Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 22-year-old Juan Colon of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia on one count of Murder in the Second Degree.

It is alleged that on July 9, 2018, at approximately 6 p.m., the defendant fatally shot 26-year-old Angel Marcial of Buffalo as he was driving on the I-190 North near the Niagara Street exit.

The defendant was remanded. He is scheduled to return on Thursday, September 20 at 9:30 a.m. for motions.

If convicted on the charge, Colon faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III, of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.

DA Flynn commends New York State Police, including Investigators Chris Weber and John McCusker.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
