Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Lemuele Jackson of Buffalo has been arraigned before Erie County Court Judge Sheila A. DiTullio on an indictment charging him with one count of Intentional Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Depraved Indifference Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, one count of Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.
On August 4, 2018, at approximately 10:40 p.m., it is alleged that the defendant fired multiple shots into a group of people outside of a house party on Hagen Street in the City of Buffalo. A 36-year-old woman was shot in the leg, but survived her injury. Another woman, 26-year-old Santana Anderson, was shot in the head and died at the scene.
Jackson is scheduled to return for a pre-trial conference on Tuesday, October 2 at 2 p.m. He remains remanded without bail.
If convicted on all charges, Jackson faces 50 years to life in prison.

Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge, III of the DA’s Homicide Bureau is prosecuting the case.
As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
