Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 23-year-old Elijah Turley of Buffalo pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice Christopher J. Burns to Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.
In the early morning hours of September 29, 2017, Amherst Police were dispatched to investigate possible vehicle racing on Niagara Falls Boulevard. The defendant, who was operating a pickup truck, refused to stop and proceeded westbound on Kenmore Avenue at a rate of 95 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Turley lost control of the pickup truck and struck two houses on Kenmore Avenue, causing significant damage. His female passenger was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries.
Turley faces a maximum of 7 years in prison when he is sentenced by Justice Burns on Tuesday, March 27 at 9:30 a.m. He has been remanded without bail.
