Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Musa Ramadan of 67 Harvard Place in the City of Buffalo pleaded guilty before New York State Supreme Court Justice Russell P. Buscaglia to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a class A felony. 

On May 7, 2017, at 6:12 p.m., Ramadan, who was driving while his license was suspended, made a quick turn on Hertel Ave. in the City of Buffalo, cutting off another motorist and causing a minor crash.  Ramadan got out of his vehicle and ran toward some bushes at the side of the road where he attempted to hide a plastic bag.  When Officer Terrance Ciszek arrived on the scene, he found the bag hidden behind a bush. Inside the bag was more than eight ounces of powder cocaine. 

A canine was brought to the scene, and it detected the odor of narcotics in Ramadan’s car.  DNA analysis confirmed that Ramadan’s DNA was a match to the DNA profile found on the bag of cocaine. 

Ramadan has a history of criminal convictions including possession of an illegal firearm.  

Ramadan faces up to ten years in prison when he is sentenced on February 15, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. by Justice Buscaglia.
