Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty To Narcotics And Weapon Charges

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 41-year-old Calvin “Biggie” Young of 509 E. North St. in the City of Buffalo pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Justice James F. Bargnesi to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree, Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.  

On March 2, 2016, Erie County Sheriff’s Office narcotics personnel executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home.  When police entered, the defendant and a juvenile ran out the back door, but they were quickly apprehended.  Inside the defendant’s home, officers found 250 grams of cocaine powder, 23 grams of heroin, 276 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia used for the sale of narcotics, a loaded .45 caliber pistol and $72,800 in cash.  

Defendant has a history of criminal convictions including a Federal Conspiracy to Distribute Cocaine conviction from 2012.

Young will be sentenced to ten years in prison by Justice Bargnesi on December 11, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. 

DA Flynn commends Chief Daniel J. Granville and Deputy Adam Imiolo of the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit for their thorough investigation. 

Assistant District Attorney Justin T. Wallens of the DA’s Narcotics Unit prosecuted the case.
