Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 31-year-old Michael Jordan of Buffalo pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to Attempted Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree.

On May 1, 2017, the Erie County Sheriff’s Office conducted a sting operation while the defendant was conducting a narcotics sale in a parking lot. Detectives conducting surveillance watched as the drug transaction began. When the detectives approach the defendant, Jordan attempted to flee in his vehicle, but was blocked in by deputies. More than ½ ounce of cocaine was found in Jordan’s pants.

The defendant has a history of narcotics-related convictions, including Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree from 2013.

Jordan faces up to 8 years in prison when he is sentenced on April 17, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. by Judge Pietruszka.

Assistant District Attorney Justin T. Wallens of the DA’s Narcotics Unit prosecuted the case.
