Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 36-year-old Christopher Krause of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge James Bargnesi to 6 months in jail followed by 5 years of probation.

On November 11, 2017, the defendant started a fire while cooking in the detached garage of his Willet Street home in the City of Buffalo.

Krause pleaded guilty to Arson in the Fourth Degree, the only charge in the indictment, in April 2018.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work by Lt. James Otwell of the Buffalo Fire Department.

Assistant District Attorney Nathanael C. Kapperman of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau prosecuted the case.
