Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 55-year-old Gary Williams of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Kenneth Case to 2 ½ years in prison followed by 7 years of post-release supervision.

On August 15, 2015, the defendant forcibly engaged in sexual intercourse with a female victim.

Williams pleaded guilty to one count of Sex Abuse in the First Degree in June 2018.

He will be required to register as a sex offender upon his release. In addition to his sentence, the judge issued an order of protection for the victim.

DA Flynn commends former Detective Natalie Perez of the Buffalo Police Department Sex Offense Squad, and now an investigator in the DA’s Office, for her thorough investigative work.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Cathleen M. Roemer of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Nicholas T. Texido of the DA’s Training/Special Projects Bureau.
