Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Joseph Aronica has been sentenced by State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to 8 years in prison followed by 5 years post-release supervision.
On November 28, 2017, the defendant set a fire on the second floor of his East Delavan Avenue home. The fire spread to neighboring homes and displaced several residents.
In June 2018, Aronica pleaded guilty to one count of Arson in the Second Degree and two counts of Arson in the Fourth Degree. The defendant pleaded guilty to all of the charges in the indictment.
