Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 20-year-old Jaylin Wiggins aka “Youngest” of Buffalo pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree.

On February 22, 2016 at approximately 3 a.m., a man was allegedly robbed at gunpoint on Heath Street in the City of Buffalo. The victim’s car along with cash and a cell phone were taken. An hour later, police found the car abandoned in the Central Park neighborhood.

The victim was initially able to provide a description of the suspect and the gun. A pistol, matching the description, was found inside the vehicle and was linked to the defendant through DNA analysis.

Wiggins, who remains remanded without bail following a conviction in a separate case, faces a maximum of 15 years in prison when he is sentenced on Tuesday, July 31 at 9:30 a.m.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Officer Paul Fitzpatrick, Detective John Heitzhaus, Officer Justin Tedesco of the Buffalo Police Department.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney John P. Gerken, Jr. of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Christopher Safulko of the DA’s Justice Courts.
