Co-Defendant Charged with Murder as Accomplice in Lisbon Avenue Homicide

Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 19-year-old Anthony Moore of Buffalo has been arraigned before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller on an indictment charging him with one count of Murder in the Second Degree, a Class “A” felony, and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” felony.

On September 28, 2018, at approximately 12:20 a.m., 20-year-old Brandon Williams was fatally shot by 18-year-old Damoni Alexander on Lisbon Avenue in the City of Buffalo. Alexander was indicted by a Grand Jury for the crime.

On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, Alexander pleaded guilty before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree, a Class “B” felony.

While Alexander admitted to pulling the trigger, Moore is accused of providing Alexander with the illegal gun minutes before the shooting and encouraging Alexander to shoot the victim during a verbal altercation.

Moore was remanded without bail. A return court date has not been scheduled.

If convicted on the charges, Moore faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

Alexander is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, June 7 at 9:30 a.m. He faces a maximum of 25 years in prison.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Det. Mark White, Det. Scott Malec and Det. Dawn Lopez of the Buffalo Police Homicide Squad.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Eugene T. Partridge of the DA’s Homicide Bureau and Assistant District Attorney Rachel L. Newton of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.

As are all persons accused of a crime, the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
