Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Brandon R. Campbell of Depew was sentenced this morning before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller to a determinate sentence of 7 years in prison followed by 10 years of post-release supervision.

The defendant admitted that during the early morning hours of April 23, 2020, he was driving on South Transit Road in the Village of Depew when he pulled over near a pedestrian. The defendant called the pedestrian toward his vehicle, displayed a shotgun, and demanded the victim’s wallet and backpack. The victim handed over the possessions and the defendant drove away. The defendant also admitted to attempting to rob a convenience store on Transit Road the following day.

Campbell pleaded guilty to two counts of Attempted Robbery in the First Degree (Class “C” felonies) on December 7, 2020.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ryan M. Flaherty of the DA’s Felony Trials Bureau.
