Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 39-year-old Felix Medina of Buffalo pleaded guilty before Erie County Court Judge Kenneth F. Case to one count of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second Degree, a Class “A” felony, and two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Class “C” felonies. All three counts were the highest possible charges that could have been proven at trial.

On September 15, 2017, narcotics officers from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at the defendant’s home on Cheltenham Drive in the City of Buffalo. Officers recovered 4.5 ounces of crack cocaine hidden underneath a kitchen cabinet and two loaded pistols – one hidden inside a printer and another in a bedroom closet. Laboratory analysis concluded that the defendant’s DNA was present on all three items of evidence.

Medina, a second violent felony offender, faces a maximum of 17 years in prison when he is sentenced on February 5, 2019.

DA Flynn commends the investigative work by the Erie County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney James W. Mansour, II of the DA’s Narcotics Unit.
