Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 34-year-old Charles Ernst of East Aurora has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to 20 years in prison. 

In June, Ernst pleaded guilty to two counts of Criminal Sex Act in the First Degree.

The defendant admitted to perpetrating oral sexual conduct upon a six year old child. 

The defendant will have to register as a sex offender upon release. 

DA Flynn commends the investigative work of Detective Darren Longboat of the East Aurora Police Department and Michael Kessler, Senior Child Protection Worker of Erie County’s Child Protection Services. 

Assistant District Attorney Bethany A. Solek of the DA’s Special Victims Bureau prosecuted the case.
