Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announces that 35-year-old Carlos Morales of Buffalo has been sentenced by Erie County Court Judge Michael Pietruszka to 8 years in prison plus 5 years post-release supervision for possessing cocaine.
In January, the defendant pleaded guilty to Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Second and Fourth Degrees.
On September 14, 2016, the Narcotics Unit of the Buffalo Police Department executed a search warrant at 106 10th Street, Buffalo, which was owned by the defendant. The police recovered over 8 ounces of cocaine from inside the residence.
On December 10, 2016, the Buffalo Police Department executed another search warrant at the defendant's property, recovering more than 2 ounces of crack cocaine from the residence, some of which was in the defendant's pocket. Also recovered were some pills and a digital scale.
DA Flynn credits the hard work of the Narcotics Unit at the Buffalo Police Department.
Chief Paul Williams III of the DA’s Narcotics Bureau prosecuted the case.
